Eastern Solomans - 24 Aug 1942

Third carrier battle of the Pacific campaign. Both fleets withdrew without a clear victor, however Japan lost significantly more crew and aircraft. Japanese reinforcements for Guadalcanal were delayed allowing Allied troops to prepare.
