Columbia Burns - 17 Feb 1865

As Confederate cavalry retreats Columbia surrenders to Sherman. Union forces are overwhelmed by liberated Federal prisoners and emancipated African Americans. During the night's drunken revelry, fires break out in the city and much of it burns.
